MailBox Monday

Mailbox Mondays is here again. This is where we can share our To be Read (tbr) books that we plan to start soon, as well as what we are currently reading. Each week we will tell you about a new find that will be added to our tbr list, or perhaps a new release we look forward to. Now let's see what we have this week.

This week's book that is on my tbr list:

Mistborn Trilogy – by Brandon Sanderson (Fantasy)
I have the boxed set of all three books waiting for me to read. However my tbr list is huge, and one day I will put aside my kindle and read this series. I had read good feedback on this, as well as for Sanderson. It is Sanderson, whom was chosen to finish Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time series after he died, and again, the feedback on his work has been great.

This week I have two books that are being released that I am looking forward to read:

Ilona Andrews - Fate’s Edge (Urban Fantasy) – release date 11/29.11

Ilona Andrews is a husband and wife writing team, who have two series that I read. The first is their popular Kate Daniels series, which has 5 books currently out. The second series is The Edge. Fate’s Edge is the third book in this series.

This is the press release for this book:

Audrey Callahan left behind her life in the Edge, and she's determined to stay on the straight and narrow. But when her brother gets into hot water, the former thief takes on one last heist and finds herself matching wits with a jack of all trades...

Kaldar Mar-a gambler, lawyer, thief, and spy-expects his latest assignment tracking down a stolen item to be a piece of cake, until Audrey shows up. But when the item falls into the hands of a lethal criminal, Kaldar realizes that in order to finish the job, he's going to need Audrey's help.

Nalini Singh – Lord of the Abyss (Royal House of Shadows series)

So far I have read and reviewed the first three books of this series. Since this is the final book, I look forward to see how this series will end. Especially, how Singh will intermingle the three siblings from the earlier books (all written by different authors) into this final confrontation.

What am i reading now???

Suzanne Collins -The Hunger Games – (YA)

I finally decide to remove the Hunger Games from my TBR list and read it. I am now in book 3 and thoroughly enjoying this series. Though this series is considered YA, I consider this for adults also, as the subject matter is really not for the very young. Once I am done, I will write a condensed review of all three books in this series. So far, Katniss Everdeen is a fantastic young heroine.

Have any thoughts? Want to add your lists or finds? Please feel free to do so. This is what will make this fun, when we all share what we enjoy the most. See you next Monday.

The trailer is now out for the Hunger Games movie...looks just as interesting...and potentially violent...perhaps, not just for kids...anymore!!!!

  2. Thanks, Sandy. I have had this for awhile on my kindle. Finally decided to read it and wow i am glad. Great book, plan to finish it by tonight.

You are right, YA is most certainly not just for kids anymore. Your great article proves that theory.

  3. Barb, I hope that you love the Hunger Games series, I still tear up when I reread Mockingjay. This series is a keeper for me and not just because I have two teens who devoured the books. Suzanne Collins is superb!
