I have rushed out to get His books as they look to be both entertaining and witty. I will say at this point I have not read them but I am intrigued. Here's why
M.R. Mathias, bills himself on Twitter as "The Real Richard Castle" with pictures of Nathan Fillion as his background. Totally made me laugh. One of his last tweets was an apology to Encyclopedia Britanica for using Wikipedia.. How could I not be intrigued? And then, there's his bio..
The jewel you see glowing in the ring in my authors photo isn't really a jewel at all. It is the crystallized tear of a real dragon. In my novel "The Royal Dragoneers" you might find the moment where this wonderfully magical tear drop fell from a green dragons eye. It hardened on its way down to land in a mess of troll corpses that the dragon was laying on.
My grandfather died before I was born, but the ring was given to me by my mother, after my grandmother recently died. My grandfather had apparently won it in a poker game near the Red River between Texas and Oklahoma sometime in the early 1900's.

As sexist as this sounds, I'm interested in reading this because he's a man!!! I can't recall the last book that wasn't written by a woman. Having said that, this does have great potential and I am more than willing to read this!
ReplyDeleteLOL, there is Terry Brooks, Sword of Shannara Series.. Stephen R Donaldson's Chronicles of Thomas Covenant the Unbeliever Series.. but even better is his dualogy Mordant's Need.. oh that is a wonderful series and I re read it over and over again..
Deleteand of course Miranda's Terry Goodkind's SoT series.. Oh and Christopher Paolini's Eragon Series..all male writers.. all most excellent.. but I know what you mean..
Each of these authors do not write romance rather they write Sci/Fi or Fantasy and with a romance in it.. but hey.. isn't that what some of the female writers do? Ok.. so not gonna get on that soapbox..
I am looking forward to this series..it really looks interesting
