It's Thursday again, and you know what that means...! I am still trying to find my groove with this and I must say, I am really having a lot of fun figuring out things as I go. *wink* Shauni has several things going on this week so you guys are stuck with me running she show. So with this weeks Talk About, I am going to feature a man who has nothing but wonderful books to thank for his career.
Rob's passions include but are not limited to, all things music.
His trademarks are his crazy hair and his big bushy eyebrows.
"The day before [the Harry Potter London premiere] I was just sitting in Leicester Square, happily being ignored by everyone. Then suddenly strangers are screaming your name. Amazing." Robert Pattinson
After Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Pattinson found his money running out quickly. When he was on his last bit of money, an opportunity came up for him to star in a new independent film that had a small following...or so he thought.
Twilight had a budget of about $37,000,000. On its opening weekend it brought in $69,637,740. The movie sent Pattinson to instant A-list status and he life has never been the same.
"You don't know how long I've waited for you." Edward Cullen
"I went to one of these signing conventions. [in '06] It was one of the most interesting experiences I've had. It was so strange that people would pay for autographs. You keep thinking you should do a little dance for them as well or something." -Robert Pattinson
In between one of his many Twilight movies, Pattinson took on another book to movie adaption in Water For Elephants. Pattinson plays a young man who is only one test away from getting his veterinary degree when tragedy hits him. He then goes and (get this) joins the circus! No joke! He becomes the on train vet for a traveling circus. He of course finds love along the way. Not only with the beautiful Reese Witherspoon but also with a beautiful elephant.
"You're a beautiful woman, you deserve a beautiful life. Nothing less" Jacob ( from Water for Elephants)
"You're a beautiful woman, you deserve a beautiful life. Nothing less" Jacob ( from Water for Elephants)
To date Pattinson has been in other movies that are not book to movie adaptions, but I really believe that his career would be next to nothing if he didn't bring these wonderful characters that we have all grown to love to life for us. Thank you Rob!
Now, a few more treats before we say goodbye.
Happy Thursday!
Lisa

OOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHMMMMMMMMMMMYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEFFFFFFFFFFFIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGG...How could YOU not tell ME about THIS?????!!!!!! Swooooooooooooooooooooooon.....
ReplyDeleteI ADORE ROBERT PATTINSON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I LOVE ROBERT PATTINSON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ROBERT PATTINSON IS MINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
**Exhaling...** He's just to die for. I will admit that his acting as Edward Cullen leaves a LOT to be desired. I insist it's the DIRECTORS that TELL HIM to act that way because we've obviously seen him do better. I get that he's supposed to be tortured by Bella's scent, battles with himself not to drain her, but it's still hell of awkward to see those two. Funny how they're actually together in real life....much to my distress.... :D If it can't be me, you know??? :D
Robert's new roles, Eric Packer in Cosmopolis and Georges DuRoy in Bel Ami are extreme deviations from Twilight and that's a good thing. He's willing to challenge himself and surround himself with strong actors. That's bound to improve his own craft. Whoo whee!!!
I HATE to hear that Rob's "following" is comprised of little girls or teenagers. For 2 years in a row, Robert Pattinson was voted by married women as the man they'd leave their husbands for at a whopping 56%!!!!! Ryan Reynolds or Ryan Gosling, I can never get those 2 straight, came in second at, I believe, at 7%. Rob is the man!!
I LOVE YOU EVEN MORE FOR WRITING ABOUT MY ROB!
I can literally talk about him all day.... Encourage me, I dare ya! ;)
Sheesh Carmen, tell us how you really feel..
DeleteLisa is doing a great job of taking over this post
That's Why it is called a surprise Carmen! :) I knew you would die when you saw it. I only wish that I could have seen your face. I tried really hard to get pics that I haven't seen before. I am with you, Edward...he is just kinda okay for me in that role, buuuuut I loved him in Water For Elephants....seriously he was amazing in that movie.
DeleteSo happy that I made your day!!! :)
OGL,.......,., I thought that Carmen wrote this!!! We have two crazed fans in our midst??? I did enjoy the picture show!! *stepping slowly away from this post*. Lol
ReplyDeleteGive them a little Power..
DeleteActually Lisa has a great direction that she is going to take this post in.. It will be about the characters in books and who plays them.. Oh she says it so much better but that's the gist of it
I am so blushing! Thanks for gushing about me Shauni! My ego loves it.
DeleteJulie I am not the biggest Rob fan. I know Carmen is going to have my head for that one, but he really has been in a lot of book to movie adaptations so I figured he would be a good candidate for the theme I am trying to create. I want to focus on stars who bring our books to life. :)
See I told you she could explain it better!
DeleteLisa, I think that it is a great theme!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks! If there is ever anyone you want to feature let me know :)
