All her life, Dana Steele has searched for knowledge. Her whole life is surrounded by books. She was perfectly content with the life she had made for herself. When she, along with her other two new friends, were offered the chance to find keys to help free three demi-goddesses, Dana's inquisitive mind could never pass up an offer like that. Had she known that taking on the challenge meant Jordan Hawke had to be in her life again, she might have not said yes.
Jordan Hawke is an accomplished fiction writer. His mother raised him all by herself and did a wonderful job of providing for him. When his mother died he couldn't stand to stay in the valley and fled to the city. His actions ended up leaving a very broken hearted Dana in his review mirror. Now he is back, and didn't realize how much damage he had caused in his grief-stricken retreat. With the clue that Dana received Jordan knows that he is key (hehehe) in the challenge that Dana must endure.
All of the feelings that Dana took forever to suppress and ignore are coming back full force for Jordan. He is going to leave when all this is over, how could she even think about letting him back into her life? Her heart would never survive being broken again. But everything about Jordan brings her to life. His smell, his smile, the way he looks at her, it all brings back those feelings from a time long ago. If she wants to find the second key she is going to have to find a way to let Jordan in without risking her heart. Is is already too late for that?
Jordan is done running. He knows what he wants and he is not going to let it slip through his fingers again. He already let fear and self doubt run his life once. This time he is here to stay and he is going to make things right. All he has to do is convince Dana to love him again and give him another chance. He knows that she is going to have to forgive him if she has any hope of finding the second key. The only problem is how can she when he really did a number on her.
One month. Full moon to full moon. The clock is ticking and Dana fears for the lives of the three half mortals. The challenges are harder this time around and the blood is real. Can Dana overcome her hurt and trust Jordan once again? Will Jordan do what it takes to help Dana find the key? Can they all survive this? In Nora Roberts second book in the Key Trilogy, Key of Knowledge, Roberts takes us on an adventure that tests limits of the heart and soul. Dana's and Jordan's relationship is beautifully constructed and tragically messed up. I love these two. Watching them trying to work together and get along is indeed a challenge but oh so worth it. You will not be able to put the book down and the ending is just wonderful! This book is A Must Read Indeed!
