Shadow's Claim, A Review

The Prince of Shadows has come to claim his Bride. No matter the cost to him or her. Beware a vampire who has come to claim his Bride.

Bettina has suffered the worse loss a sorceress can suffer. Once a queen in her own rights, a race of evil creatures beat her to near death and stole her magic along with her self respect and confidence. Now her guardians are desperate to keep her safe no matter what. They have brought back an old tradition of having a major battle, to the death. The result? The victor proves he is worthy and strong enough to protect Bettina from anything that would try to kill her. The problem? Bettina has been in love with a demon who has been her best friend for as long as she can remember. He is all she thinks about and all she has ever wanted in a mate.

Prince Trehan is an heir to the Daciano kingdom. A race of vampires hidden from the world who refuse to feed off of human blood. He is the enforcer for his race. He is the judge, jury, and executioner. When a being enters his kingdom, they do not leave alive. That is the only way to ensure the survival of his race and keep the secrete that is the Dacian line. When a young demon comes into his kingdom and leaves without permission, Trehan has no option but to go and hunt down the young man and kill him. When he tracks him to the demon's kingdom he finds more than he has bargained for.

His bride is there. Waiting for him and ready. She is lost to lust in the middle of a drunk passion and more than willing to let Trehan claim her. Then she calls him by a males other name. Not just any male. The male he followed there to kill. Trehan also finds that there is a battle to happen the next day for the rights to wed HIS Bride.

Now the real battle begins. Can Trehan claim his Bride's hand along with her heart? SOOOOO many things happen in this book! I honestly have no clue what this is a "spin-off" to Cole's IAD series. It is a wonderful book in it's own rights. This books takes place parallel to Lothaire. It is great to see what the Dacian's were going through while Lothaire was doing his own dance with his wonderful Bride. We do get a nice cameo from Lothaire and it was perfect! We also get to see the wonderful Nucking Futs Nix!

This book had me guessing until the very end how on Earth Cole was going to give us the HEA that she always wonderfully delivers on. You can read this book on its own or start the series. Either way it is going to be a wonderful ride and a sweet love story. Well, as sweet as a vampire assassin can be. Kresley Cole has done it again with Shadow's Claim. Go out and buy this book today! I promise you will not be sorry.

Wonder what else is lurking in the Shadows,
                                                                       Lisa :)

  1. A spin-off of IAD? I COULD start here, but...I'm sure you'd recommend the process, so that I can better appreciate the series and why it's led here.

But as far as your review goes: I can't wait to get to this point myself! I know your passions are genuine and, in case you were unaware, contagious. ;)

She calls him by another man's name?! YIKES!!! Great review, Lisa!!!

It was a very difficult scene to read. My heart bled for Trehan!

    2. Oh! Their first encounter with Betina being so wanton is a major issue in the entire book. Poor Trehan... Read this book! Forget the rest! Well...Lothaire is soooo good. Read that too...then you have to read Reigns book...ugh...read them all!
